Best Albums of 2024: A Challenge Accepted

When I asked Dr. Google for the best albums of 2024, I was expecting a straightforward top ten list. Instead, I was met with a Top 51. Reviewing the entire list is quite the commitment, but it’s also quite the challenge, especially considering I’d prefer not to start my 2025 reviews sometime in 2029.

Before the inevitable procrastination kicks in, I shall begin.

I should probably mention (procrastinating?), there are quite a few artists on this list I haven’t heard of, but what better excuse to dive into ‘new’ music? Some albums I was anticipating, others completely passed me by, case in point, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds’ Wild God. How did I miss that one?

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be listening, analysing, and sharing my thoughts on each album. Some might become instant favourites, others might leave me scratching my head, but that’s the fun of it.

Let’s begin.

Many aspects of my creative process are inspired by music. Something will peak my interest, strike and emotional response and suddenly a method and process will become clear to me. I create playlists to encapsulate the concept so I can relive it again and again and expand upon it.
